Why Singed Created Warwick: Zaun Lab Notes and Lore

Why Singed Created Warwick: Zaun Lab Notes and Lore
5 min read

When I think about Zaun, the first name that comes to mind is Singed, the mad chemist who is always chasing answers no one else dares to seek.

He isn’t a typical hero or villain, but a scientist willing to risk anything to test his ideas.

In his hidden labs, deep under Zaun’s dark streets, he mixes chemicals, machines, and strange methods to push science further than anyone believes safe. One of his most shocking works is Warwick.

I see Warwick not just as a monster roaming Zaun but as the result of Singed’s need to prove what his experiments could do.

Behind the claws and rage lies a story that starts with lab notes, failed tests, and a man willing to go too far.

In this blog, I will share Singed’s notes, his unusual experiments, and the lore that reveals why he created Warwick in the first place.

Singed: Zaun’s Ruthless Scientist

Singed is known as Zaun’s most dangerous scientist and chemist. He is not like the common workers or inventors in the city.

While others use science to build tools or improve daily life, Singed takes his work into places no one else dares to go. His background is filled with risky research, failed trials, and dangerous ideas that many would call madness.

In the hidden corners of Zaun, Singed runs secret experiments away from the eyes of the law.

These underground labs are where he works with chemicals, toxins, and strange machines. Many of his tests are painful and cruel, but to him, they are necessary steps to achieve progress.

He does not see people as off-limits; to him, they are just another part of the scientific process.

Singed’s obsession is clear. He wants to push science past all limits, no matter the cost. Rules, morals, and fear do not stop him.

From Vander to Warwick: The Experiment

Singed’s cruel experiments in Zaun changed Vander, who was once a brave leader, into Warwick.

After his battle with Silco, many believed Vander had died, but Singed secretly took his body and began terrible experiments in his hidden lab.

With Shimmer and other toxins, Singed filled Vander’s body with tubes and machines that erased who he was.

The result was Warwick, a beast who hunts with claws, speed, and rage through Zaun.

Although most of his mind is consumed by anger, faint memories sometimes return when he hears names or sounds connected to Vi and Jinx.

Check out my guide on the Vander and Warwick Arcane theory and the timeline that connects their stories.

Method of Mutation: Shimmer, Pumps, and Pneumatic Claws

Singed’s experiment mixed Shimmer, metal parts, and machines to rebuild Vander’s broken body. The process turned him into Warwick, a living mix of chemicals and claws.

  • Shimmer as the base: Singed used Shimmer to keep Vander alive and alter his body.
  • Chemical pumping: Tubes and pumps forced Shimmer through Vander’s veins nonstop.
  • Limb repair: A damaged or lost arm was fixed by reattaching it with chemicals and metal parts.
  • Mechanical claws: Pressure-powered claws gave Warwick deadly hands for tearing and hunting.
  • Body changes: His frame was rebuilt with metal, wires, and tubes to handle the constant flow of Shimmer.
  • Mind effects: The nonstop chemicals and pain broke his human thoughts, leaving only rage and the drive to hunt.

Warwick’s New Form and Abilities

Warwick’s body was rebuilt into a weapon, giving him speed, strength, and senses beyond any human, but the same chemicals twisted his mind with rage.

His hands turned to claws, his body grew tougher, and his senses sharpened to smell blood from afar.

Shimmer and metal made him nearly indestructible, allowing him to survive any damage that would normally kill most people.

The experiments broke his mind, filling him with rage and bloodlust, though bits of Vander’s memories lingered.

After his change, Warwick became a feared predator in Zaun’s alleys, hunting criminals and anyone unfortunate enough to bleed nearby.

The Lore Connection in Zaun

Warwick’s creation changed Zaun’s underworld in many ways. Once he appeared, fear spread quickly through the city’s alleys.

Thieves, gang members, and even strong fighters began to whisper about a monster that could smell blood from far away. His story also connects to other champions from Zaun.

Singed, his creator, is known for dark science that overlaps with Viktor’s vision.

While Viktor seeks progress, Singed’s work brings pain and risk. Jinx also plays her part in Zaun, bringing chaos and destruction while Warwick hunts in silence. Over time, Warwick grew into more than a beast.

He became a symbol. People in Zaun saw him as a warning of what unchecked science could create, and as a weapon that stalks anyone who sheds blood.

Conclusion

Warwick’s story shows more than a monster; it shows what happens when science goes too far.

Singed’s work illustrates the dangers of prioritizing results over costs. His lab notes tell the story of a man who wanted to break every rule, no matter who got hurt along the way.

To me, Warwick is both an experiment and a victim, forced into Singed’s ideas with his body and mind torn apart.

The claws, the rage, and the constant hunger for blood are not natural; they are forced changes that turned a man into something else.

Behind that rage, I feel there are still pieces of who he was, fighting to be remembered.

He created something powerful, but in doing so, he showed how cruel science becomes when it loses all sense of humanity.
